Through her varied home renovation and craft DIY projects, she shows her readers how to gain self-confidence through research and planning. In addition, HnG Smatterings offers Jeri's faux painting techniques, DIY crafts and home renovation projects, as well as tips and inspiration on home projects, decorating, entertaining, gardening and organizing.

2020 UPDATE:
You may have noticed I haven't been around for a while. That's because just as this COVID pandemic was gripping our nation and the world my eyesight began deteriorating just as quickly. By the time I realized I needed to see a doctor, all the eye doctors in the state were only seeing patients for emergency situations. It appears I had early, fast growing cataracts in both eyes. This made doing projects and computer graphics work nearly impossible. I finally found a good doctor (that's a whole other story) and am healing now from the second surgery. In another week I'll be fully healed and have perfect eyesight again. This means I can go back to doing all the things I love and sharing it with you here on Home and Garden Smatterings.
A little about Jeri's background. Her background has been in the real estate industry. She has been involved in just about every aspect of residential real estate, from designing and building, to decorating and selling with a bunch of escrow and title in between. Then later and through the interim she was blessed with being a stay at home Mom for her two youngest children.
As an integral partner in a successful custom home construction company, Jeri developed a passion for home and landscape design; creating welcoming living spaces for families. Starting the company from scratch, Jeri learned many of the basics of how to build. This knowledge is shared with her readers through small home renovations that increase the value of homes.
Her passion for art, crafts and gardening began as far back as she can remember. However, her passion for cooking came along much later. Having five beautiful children and never caring to be idle, she used to joke that instead of a having a dinner bell she had a smoke alarm! Jeri created her blog, Home and Garden Smatterings, as a creative outlet to share her passions of design, entertainment, love of family - everything that encompasses “home.”
