Gardening Calendar

Gardening in zone 5 here in the Midwest of the United States can be challenging at times.  However, when Mother Nature fans her beauty out across the landscape it makes one grateful to be here.

Maintaining yards and gardens in a rather timely manner can be important here where the winters are long and harsh.  However, gardening tasks should not be ignored during winter.  Even though it's cold outside and the ground is frozen, there are still things that can be done.  Things like catching up in your Gardening Journal.  Be sure to jot down important notes from this past year, what worked what didn't, etc.  Planning next year's vegetable garden is another task that is best done in the winter.  Or planning out hard-scape projects and changing up flower beds are both great tasks that can be done while relegated to the indoors for winter.
